MINNESOTAN CLIMBS 10,000 FEET IN NEAR RECORD PACE
December 31, 2006
Ok ok ok. So, this isn't exactly Twin Six news. But I (Ryan) am pretty damn proud of it. Since I had the good fortune of being in Maui over the holidays (thanks to a sweetly-planned family wedding), I figured I'd rent a bike and get a few rides in. After a week of the same route along the north side of the island, I decided to test my scrawny white hairy legs on New Year's Eve with a little climb up Haleakala. So I set out on a creeky aluminum 105 equipped rental at about 7am. It took me about 5 hours to summit. I believe the record is like 2:39 or something. (I know. I was so close.) But it was a great way to end the year. Here are a couple photos.

The Emmy Award winning NBC coverage of the race will air on December 9 from 4:00p to 6:00 EST. (Hint Hint, SHE DOES REALLY WELL.) Get more info on the coverage and race here.

OH BABY
November 28, 2006
We're excited to say that we've officially expanded our target market to include newborns, toddlers and other youngsters under the age of (roughly) six. T6 JUNIOR debuts with a onesie (in two different color-ways), two long-sleeve lap t-shirts, and two small versions of the Ride t-shirt. Few things have the potential to jump-start your reputation as a “great gift-giver” more than a cycling-inspired onesie or t-shirt, so check them out.

THE NEW GEAR IS NOW ON SALE
November 12, 2006
We've tweaked, finessed, massaged, and nit-picked this stuff to death. And finally, we're pleased – and relieved – to make it all available to you just in time for your pre-holiday shopping. Now on sale: NINE new men's t-shirts, FOUR new women's t-shirts, SIX pairs of socks, THREE different bottles, TWO caps, ONE killer messenger bag...and more. We're not done either. There is more to come in the weeks ahead.

RACERGIRL McQUAID TAKES XTERRA... FOR THE THIRD TIME!
October 31, 2006
When in doubt, bet on Team Twin Six. Melanie McQuaid capped her stellar XTERRA season with a stunning repeat victory in Maui with a time of 3:07:53, finishing nearly 8 minutes ahead of the other female competitors. Coming out of the swim behind the leaders, Melanie made her move on the bike and never looked back. With her win she becomes the first person, male or female, to win three XTERRA World Championships, as well as the first female to win back-to-back world titles. Congrats Melanie!

FICKER TAKES 2ND AT KONA
October 21, 2006
Wow. Desirée Ficker, tri phenom and all-around awesome gal, just singlehandedly put the exclamation point on a stellar racing season for Team Twin Six with a podium finish at the (ahem!) Ford Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Although we here at Twin Six had very little to do with how well she raced (aside from sending good mojo vibes in the general direction of Hawaii as we peered at our computer screens and watched the action unfold online from our cold dark basements) we have to give a huge shout out to her and the culmination of a helluva lot of hours working hard to make this happen. A very sincere congrats to you Desirée–for rocking Kona with style and class. Cheers.

T6 / CRUMPLER "SEEDS" ARE COMPLETE
October 15, 2006
In another well-calculated move towards world-domination, Twin Six partnered with Crumpler to develop a righteous take on the their Complete Seed messenger bag. This limited-edition extremely well-made and highly functional carry-all will be available from twinsix.com in the next few weeks.

INTERBIKE RECAP
October 4, 2006
Another ass-kicking trip. We kicked ass, and got our asses kicked. Both of us were a little under the weather, and that coupled with all the stresses and energy of interbike really beat us down. But people were diggin' the new stuff, and we're looking forward to bringing some cool new shops on board for next year. (FYI: Shop order deadline is October 15 for guaranteed delivery and pricing discounts).

As always, it's cool to meet the swarm of cycling finatics that come from all corners of the globe. There had to have been at least a solid dozen people that stopped by our booth who call Austrailia home. All wondering who was carrying our stuff down there. Although we are currently talking to a few Austrailian distributors, we haven't finalized anything yet. Other out-of-country guests included a handful of Canadian's (including Twin Six team member Deryk Szczerbak), all of which were pretty damn interested in our new wool jersey. We are looking forward to bringing T6 to your neck of the woods sometime soon as well.

It's was also very cool to meet a lot of industry people who were smellin' what we were cookin. Moots, Crank Brothers, Industry 9, Salsa...and many many more stopped by to dish out high fives. Thanks for stopping by.

Amy from Moots trying on The Betty.

And lastly, it was great to be able to meet a lot of our current dealers, MySpace friends, and other peeps who we have communicated with in one way or another since last year's show. Nice to finally put faces with names.

It's now time to crank on responding to all the emails, updating the site, and making the last batch of tweaks to the new gear before moving into production. There will be a lot of new things available from twinsix.com in the next few weeks (just in time for your pre-holiday shopping), so please check back. And if there are cool shops in your area that you think should be carrying T6, let us know.

All for now. Back to work. Ride with pride.

NEXT STOP, VEGAS
September 24, 2006
You know that feeling? That feeling that you got back in school, after you busted your ass and took all the necessary steps on a project, did all the right things, and then can't wait to show everyone where you ended up? Yea... Hope to see you at interbike.

COUNTDOWN TO INTERBIKE
August 30, 2006
Not that it hasn't already been an insanely busy summer, but I think we're going to break some records in Septmber for "time spent in front of a computer on really nice days". Where to start? First, the new prototype jerseys are in, for both men and women. We took a lot of your comments and suggestions into consideration. Thanks for the feedback. We're pretty stoked about the way everything came together - the fit is outstanding, and the look is - well, kickin'. Very exicted about launching our women's jerseys. The insiders who've seen things already think they're going to kill. Always nice to hear. Moving on... Happy to say that we've teamed up with one of the premier messenger bag makers in the world to design what we think is the best looking and most functional well-built bag on the market. In their words, "the main man said it was the best design he’s ever seen from another designer!". Again, nice to hear. We think you're going to dig it as well. What else? WOOL. We are making some final tweeks to our long-sleeve woolie that will be available online from twinsix.com sometime before Christmas. For those wool virgins out there living in SoCal or Miami Beach, this baby is not the same thing as that itchy pile of wire you wore to grandma's house for Christmas when you were six. Why wool? 1) This beauty will keep you warm on cool days, and cool and warms days. 2) It's wool, and unlike most everything else - it won't retain the smell of your stank-ass b.o. after your ride. 3) It works just as well on the bike as it does off the bike - wear it with black bibs, or blue jeans. Um, what else? We're obviously going to be rolling out some new t-shirt designs for guys and gals, as well as a handful of other projects that have been keeping us busy lately. We'll be debuting everything on the site shortly before interbike (sometime around the third week of September). If you are going to be at the show check out this map to see where we're at (Booth #252 in the New Product Showcase). If you'd like to set up a meeting, send us an email or give us a call at 612.619.1304.

24 HOURS OF PAIN. I MEAN, AFTON.
August 25 & 26, 2006
Despite the pain, it was a good weekend for Twin Six on the trails at Afton. Team Twin Six racked up a second place finish in the Vet four-man team category. We'll be posting a full recap on the site later this week. Also, Twin Six rider Jeff Kerkove muscled out 20 hard-fought laps to capture the win in the men's solo category. Check out his race report here. A big congrats to everyone who raced.

METALLICA, SHAWN FROM BROOKLYN AND IVAN BASSO ARE FRIENDS
August 18, 2006
Yea, you heard right. We finally got around the getting a MySpace site together, and sent out some "Add to friends" requests. So far, 31 friends. We say, let's be friends with everyone who is down with the two-wheeled movement. So add us to your friends, and let's make it official. Check it: myspace.com/twin_six

TIME FOR ANOTHER 24 HOUR RACE
August 15, 2006
As if our sleep schedules weren't already completely messed, we're breaking out the campstoves and battery packs for another fun-filled 24 hour race. Stop by the Twin Six tent. Hang out. Bring caffeine. 24 Hours of Afton

TEAM TWIN SIX WINS 24 HOURS OF 9 MILE
July 30, 2006
It was a stellar weekend in woods of 9 Mile. Four of our newest members battled dozens of other teams and some serious weather conditions to capture a win in the sport division's Men's Team race at 24 Hours of 9 Mile. Chia Kung, Adam Staufenberg, Dave Ziemer and Jim Bell road like mad men. Check twinsix.com later this week for more photos and videos from 9 Mile, as well as an in-depth recap of the event. Be sure to take notes.

We added three new men's t-shirts, and three new women's t-shirts. Check it.

PROJECT RUNWAY
July 10, 2006
Even if you’re not a fan of reality television, you should check out the first episode of BRAVO’s Project Runway on July 12. Katie Gerdes, a friend of Twin Six, will be allegedly wearing the women’s Singletrack Superstar t-shirt during the show. Despite the other designers not paying the shirt much attention, Katie did tell us that she got a few comments and inquiries from the producers and camera guys. (They are probably more our target market anyway.) Visit her at katherinegerdes.com, or at her MySpace site, or at her #1 fan's site: dreamformula.com.

TWO-TIME XTERRA WORLD CHAMPION JOINS TEAM TWIN SIX
July 5, 2006
Need a role model for road riding? How about mountain biking? Or maybe you're into racing triathlons, or grueling Xterra events? If you answered yes to any of these, check out Melanie McQuaid. She is pretty good at all of them, especially those Xterra races. And by "pretty good", we mean "World Champion." We are honored to have her as a part of our team. Watch for her at a world class event near you this summer.

TWIN SIX GEAR IN THE PRESS
July 1, 2006
We are pretty stoked to have a few different T6 jerseys getting attention from publications this season. Unless you live in a cave, you already know that Outside Magazine featured The Argyle as the #1 jersey in it's 2006 Buyer's Guide. Road Magazine also had a cool writeup on The Argyle and Crank jerseys this Spring. And hot off the presses, Bicycling Magazine picked The Cabby as it's Jersey of the Month for the August issue. Pretty dang cool if you ask us. Visit the INK page for more articles.

NVGP RECAP
June 18, 2006
We finished up a very busy week this afternoon at the final stage of the Nature Valley Grand Prix in Stillwater, MN. It was a fantastic five-day event, despite the freak 20 minute grape-sized hail storm and Cat 5 hurricane that blew through Minneapolis on Friday night. Thanks to those who helped us hold down the fort, literally. Couldn't ask for a better day to watch pro cycling today though. Congrats to all the racers, and thanks to everyone who stopped by the T6 tent.

LOOK FOR THE BLACK AND GREEN
May 25, 2006
We bought ourselves a sweet little 10' x 10' canopy stand today. We'll be proudly displaying it - and some sweet gear - at the Great River Energy Bicycle Festival / Nature Valley Grand Prix in June. Stop by. Hang out. Bring cash.

INTERNATIONAL SALES
May 24, 2006
We'd like to thank our fans in Ireland, Puerto Rico and Australia for buying T6 gear in last two days. Other than our good neighbor to the north (Canada) we had yet to gain any ground on our goals of global domination. But you guys really came through for us. Thanks for bringing the Twin Six movement to your corner of the world.

WOMEN'S JERSEYS
May 17, 2006
We made some giant leaps toward creating the ultimate women's jersey tonight. Maia Jenneman, fit specialist at Hollywood Cycles and a gal who knows a thing or two about women's gear, generously donated a few hours of her time to chat about fit, form and function in regards to women's specific jerseys. Calling the session "informative" would be an understatement. Rest assured ladies, we took good notes.

2007 TEAM TWIN SIX SS PROTOTYPE
May 4, 2006
TEAM Twin Six riders will make their presence KNOWN with this new Team-Issue single speed, potentially available in early 2007, but highly unlikely. T6 lead fabricator Adam Gale crafted this streamlined beauty in about two hours. "I can't believe the way it soaks up the bumps", said Adam. "F'n A". Adam also continued to praise it's unique aerodynamic styling, and sleek profile. "The ape-hangers really help to keep my pits dry." Watch for continued updates on this patent-infringing project.

FILMS ABOUT BICYCLING
May 3, 2006
We met tonight with Ms. Carl Atkinson, Coordinator for the Minneapolis stage of the 2006 Bicycle Film Festival (bicyclefilmfestival.com). We are excited to be playing a small part in making this event a huge success.
