Ride & Destroy, Episode 4: Money in the Bank

There’s a lesson somewhere in here. Stay the course my friend. An excerpt from my life on February 8, 2012: It’s 4pm. That’s beer o’clock at work. A coworker is handing me a cold one over my desk before I even realize. I tie up any loose ends for the day and manage to scoot out the door a few ticks before 5. The ever-so-slightly increasing daylight is stoking my motivation. If I ride hard enough, I can make it home in time to walk the dog and start some dinner. It is a hard ride. My legs are burning. I’m sprinting out of red lights and stop signs. Probably hitting 3000 watts at least. As the daylight wanes, the hammer stays down. Thrashing my pedals, gasping, I work up a burp. Nope. Puke in the mouth. Unpleasant to say the least. But that vomit is money in the bank. Keep the hammer down & keep it metal.
