Desert International Triathlon

My triathlon season started today with an awesome rainy race in the desert. Seriously?! It rains in the desert?! Only on race day.
My elite wave started with the collegiate wave. Those college boys clobbered me nicely.
Out on the bike I was mostly focused on holding the watts up and keeping the bike up. Wet pavement corners were not something I wanted to examine close-up.
I came off the bike 3rd female, moved into second and was unable to catch a speedy UCSB girl.
A lot of friends, a lot of fun and some crazy conditions made for a great day of racing!
