Metro State Time Trial
Morrison, Colorado
Sunday March 07, 2010

Time Trials have not been my specialty, except for this year. Training hard, and racing hard is what ill be doing, and so far, it has paid off. This weekend we had the DU Crit, and on sunday, the metro tt. Our team has yet to receive our time trial bikes from specialized, so we were using our road bikes, some with clip on bars, some without.
There is a new collegiate rule that states that “A” category riders are the only category that may use aero equipment. If you are a “B” or “C” category rider, you may only use the equipment that is allowed in mass start events. This rule is strange, and ridiculous if you ask me, because next year, all non-mass start legal equipment will be banned from collegiate cycling.
But this weekend, was the first individual time trial event of the year, and it went extremely well. After my great race the day previous, i just wanted to have fun. I wasn’t expecting any miracles, but i kinda got one. I got 3rd place in the women’s A’s…which i am extremely proud of.
The course was rolling, kinda. Mostly flat. But i had the pleasure of receiving some awesome tail winds and with a good base in my legs, i could power through anything, so it seemed. I didn’t encounter any mechanicals or misfortunes along the way, which was extremely nice, and i had a ton of fun.
Overall as a team, we had an awesome weekend. We head up to Boulder and Greeley Colorado next weekend for two more crits, and i am very excited!
