It feels good to hear Dons famous countdown again. I was feeling the jitters of the race, but even worse the start of my first Comp race.

The front pack started out with about 10 of us. Handle bars jabbing eachother up the first climb. About halfway through the first lap the front 3 guys took off and I stayed back, I didn’t want to risk blowing up. I new that I was sitting in a good forth place. Trying to keep a consistent pace I got in a groove catching some of the junior x and elite women. By the third lap I was feeling it. The course was very fast and had 5 demanding hills which took a toll on me that third lap.

I got passed by one more guy in that third lap, and pushed the whole forth and final lap trying to catch him. 5th overall and 3rd in my age group in my first Comp race, which I’m very happy with. Thanks Twin Six for keeping me looking cool on the bike and on the podium!
