If you are going to wash your jerseys and shorts in the washing machine, use mesh delicates/lingerie bags.  Your stuff will last longer and you won’t have to untie your bib straps from the washer.

Get a proper bike fitting when buying a new bike. I didn't before my last long ride - my body still hurts.

When it's 2 lanes of traffic - ride single file as cars approach. It doesn't help the cycling community when you've got 9 cars piled up behind you and your friend while you're both cranking down the road at 28mph. Know the laws and be courteous to things with 4 wheels. It's better for all of us in the long run!

If you spend a lot of time sitting at a desk or in a car or even on a bike (if you are lucky) there is a good chance that you will have a stiff, sore or tired back from time to time. This summer I took things to the next level and developed a herniated disc but as a result of that I now have a top tip for squeezing those discs back into place. The stretch you need to do is called the McKenzie push-up. You basically lie on your front and do a normal push-up except that you leave your legs flat on the floor so that your back is bending backwards. That helps to counteract the pressure that you are putting on your spine with the countless hours that you spend sat on your but. If you want a clearer instruction on how to do the exercise then search for it on you-tube.

FROM Sketchy D: Mess around with tire pressure; shock pressure, rebound and compression and gate/platform settings.. record meticulously. Figure that stuff out.. you'll be glad you did.
From:
Sketchy D here: Don't lube your chain as much as you do. It only makes a mess and makes the mechanic sad and your right leg black. Don't use your eyes, fingers, mouth or nose to assess the state of your lube. Use your ears - if you can hear it, lube it, clean it, leave it alone.

Always look as far down the trail as you can, especially through corners or tech sections. This makes your mind get your body ready for what's coming up. If your looking right in front of your tire, more times then not by the time you can do anything you have already ridden over it
